It's The Next American Idol

Check out the hair... As Dad said, "She has just enough that you can start playing with it now!" He's right. I put lotion in it and spiked it up. Then, I had to go for a walk through the neighborhood for the home owner's association and I noticed the collar on her jams was turned up. She is so hip!

Emma Has A Tooth

When you look at her, it's the bottom right one. You can just barely see white. But, when she bites down you can definitely feel it! She is already smiling and showing it off. I can't wait until they come in more and I can take a picture of that smile. How precious!

**Actually, I forgot I have a picture with her smiling like what I am talking about. Of course, you can't see her tooth a bunch but it's just the cutest smile.

Emma Is Working On Her Crawl

She's not totally there but, there have been times where she lifts that knee up and actually moves. Mostly, she just grinds her forehead into the carpet but, she is working on it.

Emma's 6 Month Doctor Visit

I took Emma to go get her shots and her six month checkup today. She is 17 lbs. 9 ozs. and 25 3/4 inches long. That means that she is in the 80% for her weight (she's a chunk), and the 50% for her height (which is more hereditary). Her head growth is in the 70%, which means she is smart!!

Emma passed all tests with flying colors. She can have a more varied menu now including meat and fresh fruits. You put the fruit in these little mesh bags and let them suck on it. It makes for a great teether and they don't choke on pieces of fruit.

Emma did give me a heart attack today, though. She fell off the examining table onto the linoleum floor. I don't even know how she did it because I was leaning over the table with my arms RIGHT beside her. Poor baby cried for a minute. But, I had Dr. Lowe check her and she said she was just fine. Good thing she has a lot of cushion!

Anyways, the visit went great and little Emma is full of personality now. She lets you know what she does and doesn't want. She will fuss and fuss over peas (or any vegetable now) but will calm down the minute you give her cereal. So funny! I am so glad we have her in our lives.

Easter Sunday

We went to church this morning and Emma never looked cuter. She slept a long time overnight and I actually had to go and wake her at 8 so, I could feed her before we went. We went to our Sunday School class and then went into the service. The nursery workers couldn't find Emma's number that they give you in case they need to call you out of the service and she was getting fussy. So, the Assistant Pastor's wife knew where we sat in the service and she came and got me. I went into the nursery and Ms. Emma stopped fussying as soon as she saw her momma. I rocked her to sleep in there and then took her into the big people service with me 'cause I knew Richard would be tickled to have his little girl with us. M actually woke up and looked up at Richard several times just to make sure he was with us and then fell asleep again. She is so precious! So, anyways, these are our Easter Sunday pictures...she is asleep in Daddy's arms!

We are getting her six month pictures taken in the same dress on Tuesday. It has an adorable hat to match. I am going to try and talk Richard into having his picture made with Emma and me. I think he might just say "yes"!

Emma's New Video

I am so sorry this is so dark. It isn't that way on our camera. I don't know why it all of a sudden turns dark like that. Anyway, this is Emma in her new jumper that Joe & Sharon gave us. She LOVES it!!!

Emma's Playdate With Brice

Monica and I had our babies two months apart. We decided we would have a playdate together yesterday. We had so much fun. When we put the babies on the floor together, we put them both on their backs. Emma has just learned how to roll over so, when we turned back around from looking at something she had rolled over so she would be closer to him. Brice hadn't been rolling over just yet but, he was giving his best effort to roll over and show off for Emma. It was so cute. We also took them for a walk together. We had fun just being motherly together. Here are some pictures of the two of them together.

Emma Rolled Over...Both ways!

Today, while I was changing Emma (on the floor again), she rolled over to get her flower toy. When she got it, she pushed up on her arms and rolled onto her back again. This is a good development because I read that most babies master one rolling over and then it is much later before they figure out the other one. We all know that Emma is the BEST!! :)

Emma Rolled Over...all by herself!

Today, I was watching a little TV while playing with Emma. I decided she needed to have a new diaper on and so, I laid her in front on me on the floor. When I turned around to get a new pamper, she was in the process of turning over. I almost went to help her (like I normally do) but, she didn't need the help. I was so excited I just praised her and praised her. I couldn't wait for Richard to come home and tell him. When he came home, I told him and she showed off her new move!

Emma and Her Honey Pot

Every time I feed Emma, I get so tickled at this look that comes over her face when she looks at the jar of food. Sometimes when she is finished eating I let her have "a go" at her jar. It suddenly dawned on me who she looks like when she get a hold of her jar...Pooh! I made this page to show the resemblance.
